The North Fork River has excellent water quality for kayaking and canoeing.
Swimming and tubing are also favorite river activities. Trout are stocked in the river and many enjoy
fishing for trophy trout from Hammonds Camp to Dawt Mill, while others enjoy fishing for brown bass and rock bass from
Hebron Bridge to the Hammonds Camp. The Mark Twain National Forest provides
beautiful trails for hiking and mountain biking. Cabins are also available during hunting season. Turkey, deer,
squirrel and other wildlife are popular with nature lovers. There are several natural caves within hiking distance of the Resort that can be
explored at your own risk. Bat Cave is located 1/2 mile down river and is a protected habitat of the endangered
gray bat that can be explored with limited access. The Lost Cabins Outfitter is our supply store and office. It is stocked with bagged ice,
snacks and icecream, fishing bait and souvenirs.
